{Kate Spade} Looks for Less

Today is the first post in my Looks for Less series. I will take a designer's ad and find cute yet affordable alternatives to get the same look. Today's look is inspired by Kate Spade's Eryn coat! I am absolutely, 100%, head-over-high-heels for this coat. I wish I could spend $698 on a coat like that, and I'm guessing that a lot of you do too. If you can afford the $1552 price tag on the actual Kate Spade outfit, by all means buy it! It is currently my favorite Kate Spade outfit. But, if you can't, you may want to try to get the same look for less. Just follow my recommendations and you can get the same Kate Spade look for only $142!

What is "Preppy"?

Most people would say that people who are preppy attend fancy boarding schools and vacation in Nantucket. You could say that someone who is preppy wears a lot of Polo, Lilly, Lacoste, LL Bean, pearls, hair ribbons, headbands, and loves monograms. They look clean and put together all the time. But I think what it really comes down to is one word: Class.

People who are preppy are fairly conservative in their dress.  They generally have nice manners and great posture. Preppy people lead a more classic and traditional lifestyle. They put effort into appearing well-bread.

Preppy is so much more than a fashion statement; it's a classic and traditional way if life. Whether you can afford preppy labels or not shouldn't change that. I believe wholeheartedly in the old saying "fake it 'till you make it". You can totally get that classic preppy look without the designer price tag- you just have to know where to look.

That's where this blog and I come in. I want to help you maintain your Kate Spade style on a college girl's budget. No one should feel like they aren't rich enough to be preppy.
